How to play Echodle

The daily line

Each day, Echodle shows one line of Final Fantasy XIV dialogue, and everyone gets the same line.

A new line appears at 00:00 UTC.

Guessing

You have six guesses to name the character who said it.

Each wrong guess is compared with the answer on five attributes: expansion, duty type, race, gender and faction.

Duty type is the kind of duty a character speaks in, such as a dungeon or a trial.

Reading a wrong guess

“Match” means your guess shares that attribute with the answer.

“No match” means it does not.

“Does not apply” means one of the two characters has no value for that attribute, so no comparison is made. It is not a miss.

When a guess misses on expansion or duty type, a mark shows which way the answer lies:

• ▲ a later expansion or a duty for a larger party
• ▼ an earlier expansion or a duty for a smaller party
• ▬ no single direction can be given
