Now you can have even more. Echodle gives you one FFXIV quote a day and six guesses to name who said it.
It started with a relic. Before our static began UMAD, I spent two weeks catching up on a relic weapon I hadn't touched since Dawntrail launched. Roulettes for aether. Roulettes for crystal paste. Then every Dawntrail dungeon, trial and raid, all over again. By the end I could recite the boss lines along with the bosses.
Ultimate prog is worse. Every pull that makes it to phase three, the same lines again:
Past... present... future. Infinite possibilities condensed into a single moment!
When our static raids, we take a 15 to 20 minute break. The raid lead shares their screen, and everyone who isn't AFK plays the dailies together: Scrandle, Flagle, Globle, Worldle, Daily Orbs.
While I was still on the relic, I kept randomposting in our Discord: progress pics of the aether pool, the next grind step. Somewhere in there I typed:
Clown bard: With all that raid/trial spam we need a wordle-like game but with XIV quotes lol
Clown bard: BIGGER IS BETTER
Clown bard: I will free us from the wheel
Green name: you should make that :Cat_Shakes_Head_Yes_Inv:
Clown bard: [poker face]
Then I finished the grind and thought about it again:
Clown bard: After giving it a second thought I might actually do something about this quotes game :Pepega:
Now Echodle is on that list too. Every raid night for a month, it's been part of the break.
It works anywhere you have a minute, though: the PF wait, the queue that won't pop, morning coffee before you log in, the bus.
And yes, the name comes from the Echo.
